On top of having a way to access the condensing units, another important thing to keep in mind is to maintain the proper clearance around the condensing units for airflow. Yes, the open plank design helps slightly, but most residential condensing units need a minimum of 12-18 inches on each side to allow for proper

Doing this to an AC unit is a HORRIBLE idea, unless you just like throwing money at the electric company. You’re going to cause the outdoor unit to run harder.

Forget about taking it apart for a technician, these fixtures degrade the efficiency of the units.

did they take into consideration the amount of room you need around a condenser unit to allow optimal airflow and serviceability? your AC guy is going to hate you for having to squeeze in a 12" space to fix your AC. common practice. you need 2 feet from the AC to any obstruction. and with this setup you need 4 feet

I love this idea but agree it definitely needs one side made into a gate or something. All AC units eventually need service and nothing will piss off the mechanic more than having to climb over this thing. Or it’ll piss you off when your AC doesn’t work and you have to sit out in the heat taking it apart before you
