I've been through a special military school for service members at high risk of capture - especially in the case of "peacetime governmental detention." It was exactly for cases like this where you end up in the hands of a country we're not at war with, but may have a tense relationship. If they're US government

On the up-side of the SVX, it looks cool. Also, I'd argue (probably wrongly) that the SVX engine is ultimately capable of being tuned (and turbo'd) to more total power than a WRX. You're right that it's a money losing proposition, but it's a very cool looking car. :)

We're lucky it isn't 1988 and somebody didn't go off half-cocked and shoot it down.

Yeah... the USS Vincennes incident was not our finest hour.

Just watched the video - it's pretty amazing how good that install looks! It looks just like a factory install. Bravo!

I always loved the SVX - looked great, sounded good, and had all wheel drive. However, the automatic always was a deal breaker for me. I love the idea of getting a 5 or 6 speed installed to get it into the league it was always supposed to be.

If I may offer a constructive critique: This is an awesome car, and I love

Good luck to the guys and gals on that plane. Although I'm sure they'll be fine, it's still no fun being in the hands of a state like Iran.

There is, and I've done it.
The primary way is "the Boulevard" which is an air route that goes from Afghanistan to the Gulf of Oman. It's the primary route for USAF planes from Qatar and Navy air power from carriers in the Gulf of Oman. It's basically a straight line down to the sea kinda near Karachi.

And I fart in your general direction!

I'm absolutely mystified by Russia's behavior. They may be able to pull off Crimea, but it's only going to be at the cost of their economy (hurt by sanctions.) I can't imagine why they think this is necessary or a good idea. A Russia that is feeling weak and threatened is scary, and more likely to do stupid stuff.

Torch: Don't listen to the naysayers, I still love you and I'm glad you wrote this article. :)

Very well - I retract my statement. This "truck" IS useless.

What is it?

It's still a F150 under all that silly.... a very useful truck. As long as the bed will still fit a sheet of plywood or sheetrock then it's ugly, but still practical. Is that cover removable?

This was my vote! That H2 "truck" was a complete waste of metal. Ugly too... ;)

Personally I'd embrace the 5 pot weirdness and for a Mercedes Benz 300 Turbo for the diesel heart transplant. :)

Ugly as sin... but still... manual, AWD, 5 pot CIS goodness... I think it would be a super fun hoon. The price of entry is low enough to make it a lot bang for the buck. I wonder how hard it is to get a couple of inches of lift on this? ;)

Wow. I wish Kinja had a "downvote" button.

Tyler is one of the most thorough and least political defense writers I've ever read anywhere.

I love that 5 people have already recommended this post and it's still "pending approval"
Kinja - I understand why you went to the approved comment system, but sometimes the delay is pretty comical.

short answer: we have no idea.
