Jourdan has shown incredible grace in what had to be an absolutely devastating Olympics. I completely plan on channeling her if I eventually bomb out in a competition (probably when, really. It happens.)

So never? This isn’t going away. People are absolutely delusional if they think it will be gone in a year or so.
“Temporary” hahahahhahaha sure. I’m vaccinated. What did we waste a year of our lives for if this wasn’t going to resolve things? Thanks, but I’ll be living my life.
It will take time for people to realise they have to accept living with the virus.
I don’t see work from home becoming the norm. There have too many examples of people ruining it for everyone. People calling in to meetings from their cars, being unavailable for “appointments” constantly, not getting child care so there is now a kid to contend with that constantly interrupts call and takes attention…
Those super drugged up appearing videos were everywhere... I feel bad for even watching them at this point. I don’t know how we collectively dismissed a minor as attention seeking and not a victim.
Meh, you must recognize that without social media pressure “two weeks to flatten the curve” which eventually became “I’m such a good person for staying home and wearing my mask” would never have gotten any traction.
I can not muster up a single fuck to give about people who choose not to get vaccinated who get covid. We wasted a year and a half waiting for this, so we could apparently get back to normal. And if the vaccines aren’t stopping this shit show? Oh well, I guess I’m getting covid, because fuck wasting more time on…
Good thing we spent the last 18 months really focusing on health and wellness by staying inside on the couch.
xxfitness was talking about this a lot 7 or so years ago when I was first getting into lifting. Nice of them to revive this weird insecurity for a new bunch of women.
I generally like to read the comments and I’ve noticed a massive and increasing drop off.
Ya, I hadn’t commented in a while and I did a few days ago. I guess I’ll just never find and reply to those messages people sent in response to my comments.
Ya, that’s why I mean they wouldn’t risk it. If someone wasn’t going to compete for several months, maybe.
I compete in a drug tested sport and I like them, I’ve looked into it lol. Certainly don’t share this with my coach or team mates as it’s probably too grey an area to risk.
Weightlifting! I’m old enough to compete against people my own age, so I get to compete nationally/internationally which makes me in theory more likely to get tested. I’m not good enough to be on the drug testing radar, really but I’d be so devastated if I couldn’t keep training with my team so I stay in a state that…
It’s banned because it was illegal, full stop.
You could use pot for training recovery. You can’t pop positive during competition. Timing wise most athletes wouldn’t risk that, but it’s possible.
This is kind of it, you don’t get to that level without knowing exactly what is and is not a substance that will let you complete in your sport.
Ah interesting. Is not selecting her related to her not being allowed to train with the team during the suspension? An ex team mate of mine is not allowed to train with us or my coach after a PED ban in an Olympic sport. He’s banned for years though, not a month.
Weed is in competition ban, I believe for all olympic sports (at least for mine - I’m olympics good at all, but we are held to the same testing). It’s tricky because it’s not like they can issue you a breathalyzer at the competition to detect it.
