the dull complexion is what stood out to me. not the bags or wrinkles or whatever. i actually think the expression is cute and endearing but other people find it awkward i guess.

I think youre right....and even to the point of almost literally transcending the first "blush" of youth. Her complexion is what seems most aged to me. The bags, the exaggerated wrinkles or whatever...they do age her. But not as much as this dull complexion. In the photos I've seen she normally has this vibrant,

I like the expression on her face. It's endearing to me and looks very candid. But yes, this portrait does age her.

Hahaha yeah they were there. They got over it and now they like him better than they like me. He pretty much talked to them as a formality or tradition or something. But clearly we didnt take it that seriously.

Yeah... my husband talked to my parents (both of them) before proposing to me. They said no. We got married anyways.

THIS!

THIS! I work in non profits. I have a 4 year degree and years of experience and still I am "interning", unpaid, to try to break into the field. I think part of the reason that male dominant jobs are paid and female dominant, pink collar jobs are not paid internships is because there is no money. And WHYYYY is

I totally agree. I hope that they were kidding when they posted this but honestly it still bothers me. When mainstream news media used "Girl Power" to describe Sec. Clinton I freaked out and wrote a bunch of nasty letters to the editor about it. These are women, not girls.

Yeah Im from des moines (I live in california now) and I know plenty of people whod be into it. Theres already a few vegan restaurants and though I havent been back to try them yet I am hearing good things. "New World Cafe"?

My husband got me Jimmy Jane for an anniversary present and I would have to AGREE! BEST PRESENT EVERRRRRRR!

Did you just refer to adopted children as "other people's children"?!?! Because they are not blood related? I am an adoptive mother. My daughter is not someone else's child. My daughter is MY child.

This of course doesnt negate the main point: we need more strong female representation in the media. Agreed.

I actually was impressed by the representation in Wreck it Ralph. Yes, Ralph is kind of the main character but out of the four main characters, 2 were guys (ralph and felix) and 2 were ladies (vanilope and sargeant calhoun). I thought that Vanilope and Sargeant Calhoun were both strong characters. Vanilope gives up

True. But if I disagree with something on the official party platform, can I still be a democrat?

Yeah I dont know what its like for Catholics.... like I said I go to a progressive lutheran church so its not quite the same. But I answered because some people ask the same question about ANY form of religion. "How can you consider yourself a feminist and belong to [insert almost any religion here]." To my

I am a democrat who disagrees with President Obama's drone strikes. Its kind of the same thing. People don't always fit neatly into categories and boxes but still may find some sort of meaning from still carrying the label.

word

I thought the same thing!

I donate to a charity in honor of my family and friends and ask them to do the same for me. Instead, I give thoughtful birthday gifts to all of my close friends/family.

Breastfeeding/carrying/co sleeping? It's just the norm for parenting in Sierra Leone (and from my research, a lot of Africa and economically developing nations). Usually, both women and men work outside the home (as farmers, maybe street vendors) but women unfortunately do almost all of the domestic work as well.
