Was it though? This was never actually covered in any regard and the movie made no attempt to frame Shaw's bizarrely flippant religious "explanations" as anything other than admirable.

It's called hyperbole for effect. You need to have more conversations.

They get to her room and she presents a 15 minute long PowerPoint slideshow of her childhood photos, then tells him to leave and never sass mouth her again when she's the the only one on board actually doing their job!

That scene is amazing because there is literally zero set up for it and it is never even so much as vaguely referenced again! You could remove it entirely from the movie and nothing would be different! Did they do it or was that excursion just so she could show him documented evidence she was really a human?

It was pretty. Pretty direction, pretty cinematography, pretty actors. It has that much.

People who try and make you do things like 'safety' and 'common sense' in dangerous places, like space, are not to be listened to, ever.

The only character who had any sense on that whole ship and she died the stupidest death. Well… One of them… Proportional to her relative non-stupidity, unlike all the other characters who are stupid and have fittingly stupid deaths.

I always figured she was an android too, and Prometheus 2 would be Rapace finding her detached head somewhere and traversing space with two bickering sibling android heads in the passenger seat. Pretty disappointed this won't be happening after all apparently.

It kills me to think that anyone would use Jezebel as an example of why they don't support feminism… It's a site that makes a good deal of it's click-money from promoting misogyny. It shouldn't be used as an example of anything but a bad tabloid gossip rag and there's no such thing as a feminist version of that.

Jezebel is certainly not any kind of leading voice for feminism. It's the Gretchen Wieners of feminism; spiteful, gossipy, and hypocritical in the extreme and I'd be glad to see it die for all the venom it's encouraged towards famous women through no fault of their own.

Gawker the tabloid deserves every punishment coming their way for their gross and unethical behavior. The good folks that write excellent and sincere content for iO9 and Kotaku don't, and I hope they're all okay.
