wow. shockingly bad. pun intended.

reading these comments is painful. why did I do it?

I feel like if you are really a geek no one even talks to you to give you the required reading. you figure it out by yourself. that's what I did.

it's foolish to try and go back and hold people from the early 20th century accountable to our ideas of fair treatment of a subject in literature today. Shakespeare has the same racism problems x 100, we wouldn't be able to read a lot of stuff if we held their creators to be responsible for realistic representation

But why does it matter if it sounds as you say "three or four years ago". If it sounds good then it sounds good whenever it was made. IMO "Bad Girls" is

Michael Bay would have made a great silent film director. Imagery is creative but the dialogue is horrible. Well, Bad Boys 2 is actually kind of funny. But in everything else horrible.

I don't think either Lady Gaga or M.I.A. are shallow or stupid. Both have made interesting music. I think half the people insulting them on here are doing so because it's a kind of signifier that they are unique individuals, that they don't buy into anything mainstream or profit oriented. I believe you are correct
