@Haneyg: i think i understand your question as: since Dropbox files are blocked, will this cause any site with them to be blocked?

@engerd: yes, this is much easier...but less friendly to non-techies who already own an iPhone. the ability to stream media to a TV from a computer has been around forever, it just hasn't been extraordinatily simple.

@ddhboy: true, however usually when you're in a wifi area (work, home) you have a charger for you phone [though i don't know why this would be more practical that plugging your phone into your computer which both syncs and charges it...?]

@violent peas: haha this happens to me frequently while reading lifehacker...i think they tap into our minds O.o

@danielblakes: obviously then you enter the ip address and log-in.

@tjreddell: yes it can...i believe in finder you click Go Connect to Server (or just use Command K i think it is)

@Imfromthenet: this is true...for it to be effective the ul/dl speed of the server must be the ul/dl speed of the client.

@cgimusic: i know! i've had lifehacker whitelisted for the longest time, but i manually blocked this horrid ad.

@Imfromthenet: well yes, before the connection reaches the server it is unsecured, but this isn't really dangerous as long as the first thing you do is connect to the server. in essence, all someone else could see was that you connected to the internet, and that you connected to the server, after that everything would

@Imfromthenet: correct, you will want to have the server somewhere other than the client machine, yes.

@Imfromthenet: you run it on one, however it's not going to be of any use unless you are using another machine to remotely access (read/write) to the machine housing the server.

usually, since i use wired internet, i simlpy unplug it and force myself to do something else....if that doesn't work, i have an application on my computer than locks the computer when i remove a certain flash drive (and unlocks it wehn i put it back in), and i'll take that out and give it to a roomate who is going

@Whitson Gordon: ahhh yes i understand...and thank you thank you thank you for pointing that out about multiple comments! this will be immensly helpful for me! :)

@Whitson Gordon: i know...it's just a little bit of an annoyance. i would switch all of my lossless over to ALAC, but i'm a proud member of What.CD, and they only allow FLAC.

excellent tip. now if only iTunes would take my FLAC rips!
