Thank you! I ended up buying new laptop and creating dual-boot of Win7 + Linux Mint on the old one, planning to reinstall Mint over the Win 7 after the Win7 support ends. I suspect the incompatibility with Win10 is caused by a small supplementary SSD that contains the boot sector. So this time I bought a machine

What about the incompatibility stated by manufacturer and not being able to start the system after forced upgrade? But I thank everybody for your thoughts!

Yeah, I know, but honestly, we don’t want really to buy two new laptops when the current two have core i7, we swap 8GB and 16GB RAMs occasionally between my husband and me, HDDs are changed to SSDs and the only issue really is our fear of non-existent security patches after January 2020. But I am grateful to everyone

Well, the manufacturer says this particular machine is not compatible. And I could not boot after manually upgrading to Win 10

We did swap HDDs for SSDs a few years ago which helped immensely but of course did not solve the incompatibility issue.

Dear David, Thank you very much for publishing my question, but especially for your answer! I will follow up your suggestions to see if we can postpone buying new machines.

I think the most unsightly toe nails are those suffering from onychomycosis. Easy to acquire, hard to get rid of, but doable.

I guess the milk going to the Eustachian tube that goes to the middle ear?

Nobody says it is a design flaw. It must be investigated first.

Not funny. Thalidomide was an awful tragedy but if you have ever seen anyone nauseated after chemo, imagine that lasting for WEEKS... No easy solution I guess. Also, it’s not “morning” only.

Trolling, are you?

Well, in the case of raw meat I’d actually prefer three or at least two layers. I end up wrapping the package in an extra bag myself to prevent cross-contamination of other items. The meat is usually in one measly cling-wrap prone to tearing. Getting salmonella or campylobacter etc. is hardly an ecological thing.

Only the New Testament. The Old Testament is in old Hebrew language mostly.

Because the “And” at the beginning of the sentences comes from ancient Hebrew language, not English. Not to say there is anything wrong with that... just that the argument does not fit, IMHO.

“the English language has seven conjunctions”

A friend recommended to me to give my daughter a little bag with 2-3 pads and a spare panties in a plastic bag, well ahead she starts her period. She was carrying it in her schoolbag for like two years but when the period finally came, at school sure enough, she was prepared (we had discussed periods before). Also,

In my country the reason of not accepting toilet paper tubes is that it is the last paper reuse possible. Paper can be recycled 7 times only or something and these are in the final stage. The same goes for paper eggs packaging. Just what I read somewhere.

Tracking helped me immensely. My daughter cried almost all the time when awake until 4 months of age and it is not easy to recognize the reason so I could at least rule out hunger/thirst with my printed Word table breast feeding tracking. Also the tracking of the left/right breast was important to me in my

When I am anxious about anything: “Is anything bad happening to me really?” The answer is usually “no” and that calms me down.

I guess you are a layperson, as am I, so let me react: 100% is probably unattainable, and the vaccine does not have 100% efficacy, so your comment does not bother me.
