I actually don't hate the way it looks. Almost all Hyundais look a bit weird, but it is a massive improvement on their previous bland amorphous jellybean style. I am not in love with Hyundai's design language at all, but the front end is tarting to look decent, and their products overall have come a long way. Shame

4th Gear: Honda should just go back to names for the Acura line. The alphabet soup is annoying and most of them are garbage.

I get the Z3 fenders, they look kinda neat. Poseur as hell, but neat. This I don't get. The 6th gen Civic isn't exciting, but at least looks decent. This looks like a bad Korean or Chinese car now.

I would pay to see that.

I like 6th gen Civics, I'd love one for a commuter, but it is damn near impossible to find one unmolested. Pipe on this.

Looks like a cartoon drawing of an '00s Mercedes. Although, I don't actually hate it.

People might laugh at your choice of 6th gen Civic, but it is a great looking car. Particularly the '99-'00.

The Subaru version comes standard with Nav and heated seats.

That could very well be. I have no experience with either engine.

That looks so sweet. I wish there were factory hardtop MX-5s and S2Ks.

Some hard tops actually weigh less than the convertibles and are more rigid.

Hey if Mazda shaves weight off the MX-5 I am all for it. Good on them if they do. I know some folks like roadsters. I don't. I can understand the wind in your hair thing, (I often roll down the windows, even when it is cold,) but I like having a top. I also understand the Miata is a roadster because of what

I could be mistaken, but I think it is actually a slightly odd looking Elantra.

I think a lot of the folks that are talking shit about buying this will not. I want it badly and may not buy it. But I also think loads of folks who are not enthusiasts will buy it just because it is relatively cheap and looks good. Hopefully enough of both will buy it to make it successful.

I think it was a subtle reference to the the fact that the Miata is often considered a "Girly" car or a "Gay" car.

I like torque, and I am by no means a Honda fan-boi, (Though I have come to respect some of them.) But I think your Integra/Civic example is appropriate. The current Honda Civic Si makes the '99-'00 Si look amazing from a driver's standpoint.

Yes, a Quad-coupe or 2+2 Hardtop or even a Shooting Brake Miata would be awesome. Or Skyactiv in an RX-8 body. I suspect Mazda will don something to answer this, though.

Except have a back seat, a trunk, and a roof you don't have to install separately. Oh and get good gas mileage. Mustangs get comparable (V8) or better (V6) mileage than Miatas. Miata fans are quick to point out that the Mustang weighs a hell of a lot more than a Miata, (As they should) but that just underscores the

Well, Ford has done an admirable job of unfucking the Mustang, but it still weighs too damn much. It is one of the candidates for next car to buy, but it really should weigh under 3,000 lbs. If Ford made anything comparable to the FR-S, I'd be all over it. Hell, they could call it a Maverick, or put 4 doors on it

I agree, but the sound right not is surprisingly good.
