However (just to cover my arse), if it is 170 minutes long then it had best be brilliant, because a nigh on three hour movie with shit reviews will absolutely not bring in the casual viewer.

It is entirely possible that Justice League is currently 170 minutes long. Snyder is known for filming enough footage to cover between 3-4 hours of movie (see: Watchmen: Ultimate Cut). There is absolutely no way they will be finished editing that film to guarantee a finished runtime. Especially 8 months out.
