Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has apparently joined the cast.

I’m legit impressed at how they’ve handled Adrian Chase. I know it’s been only one true episode since he’s come out as an out and out villain, but he’s dripping with as much menace as Slade in Season 2. Hoping they can keep it going, because I totally agree, this season has been excellent.

I just love being reminded of Daisy (nee Skye) just straight up shooting ward without a second thought:

I have watched the first 6 episodes so far and don’t understand the overwhelming negative criticism at all.

I don’t think the fight scenes have been awful - it was more that I just think Finn Jones (when it’s clearly him and not a double) is unconvincing. As Zoom says in another post, I hope they (and he) have dedicated more time to him becoming more proficient at it for The Defenders.

I’ve seen nine episodes and here’s my quick pro/con list:

Would you like to know my super depressing theory?

I have absolutely no idea how they do it, but I was getting emotional just from the trailer. I’m going to cry buckets at this, aren’t I? I just bloody know it.

Goddamn, me too. Loved the first.

WE MUST MAKE THIS STRUCTURE TALL!

Perhaps it’s the anti-Netflix/Marvel: first 6 are shit and the remainder are pretty good.

I think Bran has transcended ‘growing’. Growing up or being an adult is not on his to-do list anymore.

If you actually read the reviews, you’ll note that they watched six episodes - and a martial arts show that gets martial arts wrong is bad.

I am digging Hela’s look. She looks badass. As does Valkyrie. I really need this movie now.

I’ve read that piece several times trying to figure out if there’s three paragraphs hidden behind a puzzle, but no, nothing there.

Er. Seppinwall dedicated precisely no words to it. I’ve read his review over and over again and zero mention from what I can see.

I could get there with the fight scenes in Luke Cage, because if he was going up against regular dudes, he’s basically unstoppable (ala the bar fight in Jessica Jones) and I thought the end fight against Diamondback was pretty well done.

God, yeah, the fight scenes looked terrible. Even that cage fight they released that didn’t even have Rand in it looked ass.

ha ha ha am ded

While I’m not strictly happy this is getting bad reviews (I wanted it to be good), I totally agree - Luke Cage carried just over half a season worth of good stuff (post-Cottonmouth it got pretty boring), so putting them together, as they are in the comics, seems like the right move.
