That situation sucks, but I am a Texan, and generalizing sucks.

I am fairly sure any one coming from another country could do any show they wanted to outside of the official SXSW shows as long as they did not get paid to do it, which sucks, but as long as you do not get paid you do not need a work visa. You could probably accept tips also.
