I think the feature has potential to be interesting, but the main problem is that all the "haters" just pick whatever song was in heaviest rotation when they were in highschool and have nothing better to say about it than that it was overplayed. It'd be nice if the editors pushed them to pick a song that is more

That would be pretty amazing. Really any form of giving some of these people a chance at retaliation would be intriguing to read.

I thought the monologue was decent, even if the Hunger Games stuff was all super on the nose, but if they're going to do something based on the movie the host is there to promote I'd rather they get it out of the way quickly in the monologue than devote an overlong sketch to it. At least they didn't do yet another

Can't really say I missed her that much, since all of her characters are effectively just her talking in a "hilariously" grating nasal voice for ten minutes.

It would be nice if, even if they do a recurring bit (which is probably unavoidable when doing a weekly 90 minute sketch show), they re-used the characters but weren't so slavishly committed to re-creating the sketch exactly the same as every previous iteration but with different punchlines.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well he acquitted himself with the sketch acting, he actually made me laugh a few times with his deliveries rather than just sleepwalking and blatantly reading the cue cards like most non-comedian hosts.

It really felt like something that would not have been out of place in an episode of Kids in the Hall, and I mean that as a huge compliment.

It's also always infuriating when conservative people rant about seeing someone at the grocery store buying lobster or steak with food stamps or whatever. You should be more upset that the vast majority of people on food stamps are living on a steady diet of frozen pizzas, spaghetti-o's and other processed, fat laden

Fair enough, though I suppose pretty much the only people that read DVD player reviews are high-end cinephile/audiophile home theater component nerds anyhow, everyone else just looks at the box and checks if it has the input they need for their TV.

Yeah, I suppose it's not really that is has to be Ganon, just that the "big bad" in Minish Cap was a little lackluster.

It's probably not going to happen until the systems are retired, but with most new games coming out on the 3DS nowadays, that seems like it might be rather imminent for the DS.

Skyward Sword is really great, I thought. It at least feels as though there is an overworld, despite the flying. Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass basically feel like a bunch of disconnected dungeons that you "travel by map" between.

My only hope is that they someday release all these DS/3DS games on the Wii U's virtual console thing. It should work pretty well considering the Wii U is basically a DS with the top screen being your TV.

I don't know why they didn't just stick with calling it "the dark world" as LttP does, the name Lorule is such a groaner.

True story: at the height of OoT madness (so, when I was in 7th grade), I was playing it with a friend at his house and his dad came in and said "Does this scare you? Because you might have to do this one day" (his dad is slightly crazy).

As someone who, at this point, plays almost exclusively Mario and Zelda games, it's almost impossible to choose. LttP is definitely tough to beat, although there's a special place in my heart for Link's Awakening due to all the time spent on the school bus playing it over and over in junior high.

Your last point is why I never understood the outcry around Wind Waker's cel shading technique; it was the closest we've ever got to playing the version of Link that was in all the NES/SNES instruction booklets.

Haha, I'm half surprised he didn't use "handfeel" in there somewhere.

The "unboxing" culture that has arisen around consumer electronics is infuriating. It is, ultimately, a black box that will sit under your TV with all your other black boxes. Not to mention the fact that it looks almost identical to the XBone. Do people review DVD players in this fashion?

Luckily S.H.I.E.L.D. will be cancelled once people realize its just a warmed over, equally shitty Heroes remake and give up on it, and ABC realizes that nobody is watching it and it's expensive as fuck to produce.
