I felt like the episode was setting up Brogan to be outed as an "A Million Little Pieces" style fake, so I was pleasantly surprised when the show zagged there. It was nice that he got his comeuppance via Jake choosing his team over his idol, rather than just having him outed as objectively a fake.

Maybe it's just me, but for me, appearing in a European music awards show is not equivalent to total media saturation.

That is amazing. I also remember it being vaguely scandalous that Yul Brenner's inspirational speech to Junior involved the repeated usage of "bad ass mother."

Yeah, Disney's sports movies are always better when they don't focus solely on precocious moppets.

Uh, the crash in the movie uses the actual footage of the real Jamaican bobsled team crashing during the 1988 winter olympics… the characters are obviously all made up (including Blitzer and the rivalry with the Swiss), but the overall plot is pretty much as it happened.

I was pretty glad that they let him keep Ferguson for so long, where most shows would have had him return the cat by episode's end or just instantly forget about it. I thought the whole Ferguson thing was going somewhere, but it seems like they did finally just choose to forget it.

Yeah, they're really working up a sweat trying to bring him back into "likable" territory after that. My biggest problem with Schmidt so far this season is that he has not once said "hair chut-a-ney" yet.

Yeah I never really got that either. Everyone raved about how much of a breakout character Coach was in the pilot, but nothing about him seemed particularly revolutionary to me.

That is somewhat true. The show could pretty much be called Nick & Schmidt without changing anything.

Another option: just make the halftime show a list of 99 signs you're a 90's kid

That's true, Lamorne Morris has been very good with what little he's been given. It just seems like this might be a terrible move for the show since they pretty clearly already do not know how to integrate Winston into most episodes. I'm scared we're about to start getting lots of "Winston and Coach off in a B plot"

Now they can totally underserve TWO black characters!

I don't really mind the increased use of CGI for The Hobbit compared to the LoTR movies, it's a more humorous, fairy-tale like story and the lighter tone and more fantastical creatures make sense.

Ok, I was honestly not sure if you hadn't seen it or if you were just being obtuse and making a joke totally went over my head.

I think most people generally watch the halftime show sheerly for the spectacle even if they don't really care about the performer. Intentionally leaving the room during it seems like one step removed from being the "I don't even own a television" guy.

Just have special guest Scott Aukerman do the "It's been"

Yeah, a competition would be kind of cool, they could even turn it into a show and air it on BTN or something.

It's pretty telling that it includes almost no dialog from Thewlis, yet pretty much the entire movie is him ranting.

Then just sit back, relax, and watch the FCC complaints from old people who are offended by the name roll in!
