Came here to say the same. 2, 4, and 5 are the only ones that I think could be objectively bad for storytelling and immersion. Other than that, I literally don't want people to stop using even one of the others.

Agreed, 100%. All of their games are just half-baked to me.

I'm just disappointed that there's no cross-platform play, at least on families of consoles (playstation/Xbox.)

LOVE that battle—no games have ever made me save my game so compulsively as the SaGa games. I'll never forget narrowly beating that boss by turning Red into Alkaiser after everyone else had been wiped out after ten excruciating minutes of fighting.

True that we had tons of off-kilter stuff during the Golden Age, but I think Saga Frontier deserves a little more credit than that. I didn't even know what an open world was when I played this game (didn't grow up on PC games at all), and it wasn't until years later with the explosion of popularity with the Elser

I absolutely fucking love SaGa Frontier. In my mind, it was way ahead of it's time for a JRPG.

I don't at all. I never intended for this to be a Lucina vs Pac-man thing. Just two unrelated thoughts: I think that Pac-man looks like shit, and I was hoping for Lucina instead of Marth (mild spoiler: Lucina goes by the name Marth for the first couple of hours of gameplay. Dresses similarly, uses same weapon.)

Hey now, no need to attack anyone; It's just adults having a discussion here. Feel free to join, if you have something of worth to contribute.

On the issue of relevancy, I definitely can speak at least somewhat objectively by looking at how a character has impacted the community over the past 20 years. Pac-man had a revolutionary game a long time ago, and has since floundered harder than a level 5 Magikarp, eventually retiring into subpar merchandising. But

It definitely is my opinion, but I doubt there's a wide enough consensus here to say I'm in the minority just yet. Anecdotally, in my friends group, I could not be more in the majority.

I'm despicable, really.

You might have me there. All I have is anecdotal in this situation—I just don't know ANY Kid Icarus "fans", but know a shit load of Fire Emblem ones. Plus, Lucina is one of the lead characters, and is featured heavily in the advertisements and on the box. I don't think I had ever seen Palutena before the reveal.

I thought Game and Rob were both awesome additions, actually. I just think arms-and-legs Pac-man is creepy as fuck, and that the character should stick to wallets at Hot Topic.

A good replacement for Marth. Look her up! Also, she has blue hair, so I'm digging your unintentional word-play.

I played the SHIT out of Pac-man growing up (my cousin had the arcade game in her basement), and am pushing 30 myself. Past glories do not really change the fact that modern Pac-man is really just a dude they put on shirts at Walmart.

That sounded familiar.

Challenge accepted! I'm actually insanely casual at Smash, so you won't get much of a challenge here. Will probably force myself to use Mega Man.

Known =/= relevant. And my personal interests matter a ton in the grand scheme of my opinions, which I'm merely expressing here.

Man, I'm not arguing the logistics of it at all, I'm just saying that I think he's lame as shit and looks really weird with the rest of the characters.

He's the lamest character to ever be in a Smash game, IMO.
