Thank you. Thank you so very much. I actually started going to Joystiq for the first time because I just couldn't handle it here sometimes—dedicated reader for 4 years now.

@JCDenton: I agree. On several levels, it makes me uncomfortable.
@Kozza: Ah, thanks man, I am humbled. This is my first time submitting and I just threw something together before work. I'll try again next week.
@AlanMooresBeard: Hahaha, the only thing that would make this better would be making the pencil a sharpie.
@magus-21: Games are interactive fiction by definition, unless you want to split hairs by saying some and interactive nonfiction?
It's just not an engaging experience to me. Yes, it's fun to kill time with, but I would liken it much more to a toy then to interactive fiction. Might as well say Fat Booth or Face Swap apps should be game of the year.
God, some of the comments here have gotten me unnecessarily and futilely angry.

@The Sentient Meat: Agreed, and his music is just incredible. I believe White Glint would be a great recurring character as well, but I doubt it will happen a third time.
@cwbys21: The Link one is the most confusing to me by far. I mean, he clearly has a personality, he just doesn't speak. His personality also clashes with mine quite a bit, so I'm not sure how compatible "layering" mine onto his actions could ever be.
@The Delanator: As I said to Yonder, I may need to rescind my statement about Gordon. It has been years and years since I have experienced the games, so I need to revisit it now that I'm an "adult" for sure.
@yonderTheGreat2: With all due respect, I didn't really learn anything from his post, though he does make a good point.
Ugh, I LOATHE silent protagonists across the board—Pokemon, Zelda, Half-Life, Breath of Fire, all of them. To me, it will always be a cop-op, and nothing more. Hey, instead of writing a real personality, let's just say it's the player's personality, even though they have little to no actual choice in what they do in…
@GeneralError: One huge potentially positive thing we could get out of it is touch-controlled games without covering up considerable portions of the screen with our fingers. If you've never played any iPhone/iPod Touch games, just know that it is a pretty big problem when your fingers and the on-screen Dpads and…
Please, God, let this be fake. I'll never get a girlfriend playing this thing.
No 3DS over $200, no PSP2 over $300.
@ToeJam_without_Earl: What's the alleged typo? I just read it a couple more times to try and catch it, and still nothing.
Hopefully it won't cover up my guy's face when I want to have meaningful conversations with proper facial animations.
Mass Effect 2 is one of my favorite games in years, but this comment is one against it getting game of the year. It's tough for me to say that, as Mass Effect is my favorite new series in years, but ME2 is such a case of getting a sequel half-right; two steps forward, one step back.
