@Xaif: I disagree that Standard is equal to high definition actually. I'm not a graphics nut or anything, I'm really not, but one thing I don't think a lot of people realize is that visuals can and do have a lot to do with suspension of disbelief, something that is important to an immersive experience.

@lionkitten: Exactly. I find it funny that they think 3d, the thing that most people agree is an expensive gimmick geared more to distract than enhance, is worth a hardware iteration, but they say HD is not.

Funny that they think that upgrading to HD is not worth new hardware, but they think 3D IS. Even in the post-Avatar world, I think their priorities are jacked. They know good and well HD is worth a jump, they just also know that there are two companies doing it better than them already. Better to throw some

@PurpleFries: Oh man, that stinks. This is the first I've heard of this—what kind of legal issues are we talking here? Square won't let them do it, or as Prinny said, want more money/royalties that it's worth?

@BuriedTalents: Yeah, I've heard the same and am largely in the same boat. I'm sure even the allegedly superior Japanese version could be greatly improved upon though. Look how much better the writing is for games like Uncharted 2, Bioshock, and Mass Effect vs. just the ps2 generation, and that's just ONE generation!

@LordThayer: That last paragraph was directed at the compilation of VII titles, not the original.

If they remade VII, it's release date would literally be one of the best days of my life.

Where the fuck are the Final Fantasy VII ones? I'd buy them twice. I thought for sure they were just waiting to coincide with the release of XIII.

So, is it safe to assume that, if you buy the demo, then upgrade to the full game digitally, that they would take the price of the demo out? If so, I actually think that would be rad.

Gross. No thanks Bioware, have you even fixed the non-interchangeable armor sets problem yet? How about the helmet during cutscenes?

@PS1: Absolutely agreed. I avoid first-person shooters like the plague, but I will absolutely get down with some 3rd person as long as it isn't shoot-move-shoot-move.

A little too late for this, but an option for co-operative mutliplayer could have produced some more accurate numbers.

@LordThayer: Just sold out of the one I wanted. I am now putting a curse on all of your houses.

D'oh! You just had to tell everyone! Now they are going to sell out of the ones I want before I get paid on Friday.

@samwise227: Yeah, I'll kind of give you that, as someone who has Johan as their avatar.

I couldn't get myself to play this game longer than a week or two. It just got too repetitive (I know, it's a fighting game right?) and the lack of a story mode for the villains absolutely killed me.

For some reason, I just can't help but feel that the backdrop is really jarring. Makes me feel uneasy.

Where is the "Pirates just use DRM as an excuse to feel self-righteous about something they would or have been doing anyways" option?
