I would’ve agreed with you if there were anything in the article or headline that also referred to the past as wasteful.

Yeah, I also don’t believe it to be intentional, but the bias is definitely there.

Well this time a lot of devs have been saying the switch is the easiest Nintendo system to develop for so far, and since it supports unreal and unity and Nintendo seems to be able to provide some more tech support than before for unreal, third parties might be more onboard this time.

I believe that Link is the First 4 Figures statue. He’s in pretty much the exact same pose as the Amiibo though.

Dreamcast was the definite failure of that generation that killed Sega’s hardware division, so it’s unfair to compare the GC to that. The PS2 clobbered it, and the XBox outsold it as well. Ever since the PS1 outsold the N64, people have been saying Nintendo was doomed. The GC did nothing to silence those people.

Several others have pointed out that it’s a sound marketing strategy to make sure Switch games stand out on a shelf and are visibly distinct from 3DS boxes, so that they aren’t automatically lumped together with handhelds. Wasteful as others before them? Sure. Stupid? Depends on how much you care about business.

The last time Nintendo truly participated in the console wars with competitive specs was Gamecube, and it didn’t do well. It’s naive to think that Nintendo would be guaranteed to dominate today’s market if they had kept up in that regard.

1-2 Switch is actually $50, but it would definitely serve better as a pack-in game. Then again, if they had done that, Nintendo might have risked the Switch being immediately written off as another “gimmicks-only” system, which it isn’t.

Good, a brother in arms! Come, let us invite these knaves to the back of the McDonald’s parking lot, where such honour is traditionally upheld.

As several have already pointed out, Vita game cases are about as wasteful, give or take a centimeter of height. But hey, any excuse to shit on Nintendo, right?

There’s a subtle difference between being actually insulted by something, and becoming exasperated with idiots who insist that they are insulting you.

Ethan, you giving Blizzard a pass and then shitting all over Nintendo for doing the exact same thing reeks of bias. Nintendo makes many questionable decisions, but this one is a poor choice to make a fuss over, especially when you target them this blatantly. I hope this was unconscious on your part; otherwise I’d just

Damn homie, thas’ brutal.

1-2-Switch is most definitely a technical showcase of the HD Rumble and more precise motion detection, overall. In the case of “Soda”, it’s pretty clear that it’s basically Hot Potato (though it’s manual agitation, as opposed to a timer or something more random). I do wonder if it’s actually important to hold the

Kudos to Tony Hawk for implicitly agreeing that THPS5 was a huge piece of flaming garbage.

I’d love to see a return of that one actual surfing pikachu with the blue eyes they found during...I think the Orange Islands arc?

Went to the comments looking for this correction. Good work! THE PEOPLE MUST KNOW

I was hoping that by starting to carry more geeky merch (the mugs, apparel, toys, etc.), they were coming up with ways to not rely so heavily on pre-owned sales.

Guess they’ve just gotten worse. Bleugh.

I like watching the Two Best Friends Play LP. Their commentary lets me laugh while scary crap happens.

Having recently started Awakening, my first FE (in casual mode), I asked about losing units on the Nintendo subreddit.

I received many responses about salty reset/save scumming after character deaths.
