Oof, yeah, that's pretty much what I was talking about. It works and serves its purpose, but I guess my main point was that minimalist designs like the mockups in the article are at their best when they communicates clearly, and the full roster of types just doesn't lend itself to a neat color code.
I am assuming that the color schemes of the UI are decided by type. Though that works out pretty clearly for the starters here, I imagine the color key becoming considerably more abstract and inelegant with all the different types in play. What color is 'fighting'?
