I know a guy he can hang out with. (They always look nearly convincing until they talk.)

It's kinda nice that he covers the basic concepts of learning simple and effective tools and when to use them, but you really, really, reallllllly also need to know how to block. And when to attack after you've blocked enough.

Chalk me up as one of the guys who respects Labzero for making sure blocking was part of the

I believe it's Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. You can buy it on Steam. And it's too bad, since it was less than 10 bucks just a week or two ago!

The specific button inputs aren't universal, but the two core principles he brings up in the video hold true all characters: One, learn what each of your character's moves does. If you keep an eye on the reach and speed of each of your attacks (crouching and standing), you'll find which moves are the safest pokes,

Welcome to Roquefort!

I bought Pushmo a couple days ago and I'm friggin' pushin' so much mo.

Therre we go. Thanks!

The concept is reminiscent of a browser game I played a long time ago, where I believe you had to use recorded copies of your mouse cursor to coordinate ways to reach the next floor in a building. Or at least, I think the concept was similar. Can anyone remember what I'm talking about?

That works

I think the resemblance to Braid is strong enough to incorporate it in the headline. Now all we need is vaguely Celtic fiddle music.

I did it too. I'M SCARED

Timing-based attack mechanics have been a thing I've loved ever since Super Mario RPG introduced me to them. Marrying that with actual music seems like a pretty cool way to go.

If that's where it has to begin, then so be it!

And I've never played Earthbound or Mother 3. Been meaning to. Actually come to think of it, Mario and Luigi in Superstar Saga did at least bounce side to side when selecting attacks, but again, only pieces of the puzzle.

Get on it, developers!

I get your point, but I consider Theatrhythm more of a rhythm game with a JRPG skin. The goal is still really just to clear the songs. What I'm thinking of is a game that has strategy and magic and selecting things, but with the actions and commands done on-beat, and with all party-members and enemies bouncing

Screenshots like this make me hope that they'll do another 'special movie' like Melee's, where they just show off all the weird silly things they can accomplish in-game. It was fun!

Now I realize that a full-fledged rhythm RPG would be up my alley.

I just realized what a cruel joke that name is. It sounds like we're just mocking Wii U by saying it has an unknown quantity as its best RPG offering.

I agree wholeheartedly. Something about those plain, solid blacks for their pupil/irises, and the ever-so-slightly more exaggerated contrasts in shapes across their bodies. And though one wouldn't think it matters much, the deeper skintones actually make them look a lot livelier. USE THESE DESIGNS FOR MARIO GAMES

This gutter trash has no dignity.
