I didn’t realize this, but apparently battery usage snobs exist now.

Did Gizmodo get rid of slideshows? Because I totally clicked on this just to complain about slideshows.

The secret is don’t heat your home if you live in the upper Midwest. Or just move to more temperate climates along the coasts. (See figure from paper below)

This is hardly a novel technique. I once looked at an antique safe that was made from cast iron, but had little crescent-shaped bits of carbide embedded in it, so any drill bits would be dulled, deflected, and broken. Good luck getting through it with anything other than thermite.

I used to use Yahoo and AltaVista, but there was a phase when my favorite was Ask Jeeves. There was something novel about asking a question in natural language to a remote computer instead of looking up a simple word. Ask Jeeves did that way before digital assistants came to phones and home devices.

Why?

Go: Tiny, short specs, possible LTE.

Pro: Go w/o LTE, but full Ultrabook replacement hardware.

Pro X: Glimpse of a possible ARM future.

Laptop: Gorgeous MacBook Air analog.

Book:  Jack-of-all-trades machine with limited, selective compromises.

This is honestly a long-time coming. While the IBIS in Olympus cameras is second-to-none, they don’t really have anything else to hang their hat on. They make good cameras, but Fuji makes better ones in the superior APS-C sensor size for an equivalent price.

And now Fuji is the only Japanese camera company named after a mountain.

The food at Tim Horton’s, in general, is bad.

I also respect, but respectfully disagree with, this take; I agree with everything that you’re saying on the surface, but I think taking the name Skywalker, after looking at her adopted “parents” in the form of the children of Anakin Skywalker, was just as much her honoring Leia as it was Luke. I felt like that was a

Yeah this is a pretty shitty take. And yet it happens every single time a company tries to make strides in the right direction. Chipotle starts adding organic beans "yeah but they aren't ALL organic and they still sell beef". It's moving the goalposts and its lame.

“To truly become carbon negative, Microsoft must end its AI contracts with Big Oil.”

Because of the Senate. The House, supposedly, represents popular sentiment, and the Senate was intended to represent the states. So even if a small state like Delaware was heavily outnumbered by the sheer number of representatives of Pennsylvania (one of the most populous states of 13 original), Delaware would have

Why do you say this government was designed so only sweeping coalitions achieve power?

You probably have the same issue as me, too high BMI for smaller edibles, I feel this is my major problem

Interesting article, but can you elaborate a bit more on what features you will actually get with each shoe as opposed to their proprietary software and video recordings that seem like would be left out of the final product? What metrics can I expect from the Glideride vs the Evoride?

To add to what Tebow and Young_Griff said, it’s also nearly impossible to even load the comments for most people now. I generally have to refresh the page 5 - 10 times just to load the comments, but half the time I just give up because they never load...and the damn coders refuse to fix it.

This is off topic but what happened to all of the Gizmodo commenters? There are hardly any comments on posts anymore. Did Deadspin dying affect the rest of the sites more than I thought?

Can I be worried about all 3 options?
