NYU posted a notice on their facebook page and twitter a couple of days ago. Nice to see that a number of Higher Ed institutions are in agreement about this.

Last time I was in New Orleans I didn’t want to wait in line at Willie’s Chicken Shack and let some frat boy motorboat me in exchange for a thigh from his combo. Reasonable barter. good times....

Apparently it’s common for Indian weddings. Plus the bride and groom are doctors in their 30s, they already have more cuisinart gadgets than they can handle.

I recently went to a wedding that had “please, no boxed gifts” on the invitation. I thought it was tasteful phrasing. Plus I knew it was a lavish multi-day affair so I had no problem writing a check in exchange for hours upon hours of food and drink with my friends.

Rappaport is just salty because he’s been stumping for an invite to the cookout for 3 decades and can’t get past the gate. I know your mama don’t use paprika on her potato salad, Michael, but you can’t eat here every day.
I hope Gary Owen takes heed... never go Full Rappaport.

I was at the Hair ep taping and Pheobe and Jessica are gd treasures. The bit with SJP and the brunch went on a bit too long, especially because they were so hyped that they kept asking her questions then stepping on her answers. Also, whomever did the guest talent booking apparently wasn’t very clear about what the

I had a similar but related conversation yesterday about coworkers who take care of sick children all night then come in to work, get sick themselves midday, and continue sitting there moaning and groaning. Get up and go home!

Pro Tip for anyone in New York State with limited sick time: The new New York Paid Family

Thank you for introducing me to Cooking For Bae. I’m a relatively good cook so my boyfriend is spoiled. I sent him a bunch of screenshots from the insta page and said “be happy you have me. other chicks out here serving up struggle plates”

10. I know you don’t know what to do with your hands when taking pictures. But you know what? No one else does.

I think I come off as someone who wanted the adviser to do his due diligence and not make assumptions about his student’s perceived limitations. The “regarded as” prong of disability law exists for a reason.

Thank you for your comment but if you’re missing key parts of the fact pattern: This student was in the 10th year of her program and the first 8 of which preceded pregnancy or parenthood, far beyond the 1-4 years you cited. She had previously been granted two extensions, the second of which she was told would be her

That is a genius idea for a wedding gift! I recently got into glass engraving and a lot of my friends are getting personalized stemless wine glasses for Christmas. Now I want to invest in metal engraving bits. Need to investigate if a dremel with a flex shaft would be strong / fast enough

Best thing I spend money on this year: My condo
It cost a grip and was hella stressful, but I’m watching prices continue to surge in my neighborhood and I would have been soon priced out as a renter.
Runner up: Group Legal services through my job. Saved me about 4k in attorney fees for contract review and closing.

Ditto on the Victorinox Fibrox. I have two because i thought I lost one in a move and was so distraught that my parents gifted a replacement with my name engraved. It’s been rated the best chef’s knife by America’s Test Kitchen for almost 30 years and is very inexpensive for how often you’ll use it.

In my past life in Higher Ed I once got a call from a PhD adviser who wanted an extension for his student to defend her dissertation. When I asked why, he said she was pregnant and would be (he assumed) too tired and overwhelmed to defend. I reminded him that she had the whole pregnancy to finish her thesis asked him

Congratulations on finishing school! I have mixed feelings about this comment because it seems like Ms. Thomas has a good support system, which makes it infinitely easier to”buckle down”. But I’m forever supportive of social service programs such as sliding-scale daycare and WIC because they give hope and just a bit

Aaaaaactually, you can use your FSA funds for a gym membership if you have a prescription! If you have a letter of medical necessity you can submit for reimbursement. I’m rehabbing a torn rotator cuff and asked for a letter to join a gym rather than paying $40 3x /week for PT. Depending on who administrates your FSA

My favorite Christmas song is a James Brown classic but it doesn’t fit the criteria for this list. Too many horns, too bouncy.
If you do a follow up list “All the cousins dancing in the basement because Grandma said get out her kitchen” I expect this to be #1.

Harry! Puppies! Kids of of all identities! I just watched the little boy with Downs at the end giggle on a loop for like 5 minutes. totally made my day. #InclusionIsCool

Restart is the closest we got. Serving me dance-era Luther Vandross with that synth and backbeat.
