From what I've seen, the whole design is a mash-up of the original timeline and the Kelvin universe. I always give a chance to the runner, so, we'll see.

Ford is awfull, in interviews. He never gives a clear, strait forward answer and is generaly condescendant with the interviewer (even with Fallon, who fawns over him, awkwardly laughing at his non-funny jokes).
