Well, based on reading the other replies to this, it really takes an awful lot of mental gymnastics to believe Te'o's story. For the record, I don't believe any of what Jack Swarbrick had to say either. Not the dates nor the part about hiring investigators.

Is there any reason to believe that anything Jack Swarbrick said at the press conference is true? Why believe that he hired private investigators? who were they and why weren't they there to help answer questions? Why believe that they learned of this on December 26? None of it made sense.
