But that doesn’t work for me.

Nice username/comment synergy.

Weirdly enough, it’s the same as my first grade teacher and the name of my first pet!

Sure we do!

Broscience is a beautiful word for an awful reality. Thanks.

Too little too late. He can just stop talking forever, he’s done enough damage. “It’s bad to give friendly soft-ball interviews to white supremacists” shouldn’t have taken him this long to realize.

Nah he has his “fact checker/igor” Jamie look shit up all the time mid podcast and has many times walked things back mid stream. He says some really stupid/naive things (I do not think he fully understands his white priviledge even though he had a very poor upbringing) but he has always been willing to walk things

“Free-thinking” likes to avoid empirical data or hard truths, unfortunately.

Let me put it like this; if you attach four legs of equal length to a flat surface, we call that a table.

Rogan’s audience likes to take three legs of different length, put them in the vicinity of a flat surface, and try to convince us that

For some inexplicable reason, he reads as a smart person to dumb people.

I’m too young for NewsRadio to have been a thing for me, so my only frames of reference for Joe Rogan are as the host of Fear Factor, which — correct me if I’m wrong — became less about doing scary stuff and more about doing and eating gross stuff, and a colour commentator on UFC, where he and Dana White were locked

Off-topic:

I like Rogan specifically because he admits when he is wrong...

He also just did a little monologue/thing about how he has come to the realization that people are getting info from his podcast and that he needs to take it seriously as sort of a public service.

...so this is a frustrating setback so soon after.

That being

Because we are in Hell, because there are actual “educators” who will use YouTube videos for their regular classroom material, and because-- we are in Hell.

It’s good that he apologized (and offered an actual, real apology). There however is the problem that a likely very significant number of his listeners who heard his original incorrect claims will never read this tweet or have any idea of it’s existence.

Why the hell does anyone treat this guy as a reliable source of news in the first place?

I guarantee that he will make that mistake again. He’s a conspiracy idiot who repeats shit without doing the least bit of critical thinking or research into the validity of the claim constantly.

Right, but he’s still a gullible, unquestioning shitburg that doesn’t know when he’s being played, and that can be just as dangerous with a large enough audience.

Rogan gets lumped in with a lot of shitheads (rightfully so, most of the time), but the fact that he’s going to admit that he’s wrong like this really elevates him above a lot of his shithead peers.

Name one film that adapted a game badly because the plot it adapted didn’t lend itself to film. ‘cos any I can think of didn’t even try to adapt the games’ plot, they came up with their own, and it was crap.

“Adapting a video game into some other medium is often a tough sell, for reasons that are generally obvious.
