It feels like an insult to the show’s cast. I heard a comedian musing on a podcast recently, “Imaging dedicating your entire career to getting on SNL - a show where they specifically make you do a political impression as part of your audition - and then after you book it, you get the honor of playing straightman to

...have they considered that Biden might win? you’d think after bringing on Baldwin and getting stuck with him for 4 years they’d be a little more cautious about this shit.

Having read his articles for years now, I’m pretty sure Barsanti has no clue how snark works. I can peg them as his before I even read the byline. Hughes is the next-worst offender.

I love The Beatles. I have a Beatles inspired tattoo.

You’re problem seems to be what’s played on the radio.

I think I mostly disagree with your take BUT this one I do agree with.

While I do agree with your premise in general.

Pop music’s definition is literally its name, “Pop”ular music. It’s not even a really a genre, it’s simply the music that’s popular at the time. Taylor Swift; Eminem; Migos; Nsync; Limp Bizkit; the Beatles; they’ve all been considered pop music at some point. It’s not an actual sound or anything, just what’s popular.

That’s easy, a lot of that comes down to sexism.

There’s nothing wrong of an artist working within limitations.

I have a sneaking suspicion about that too

The worst is that, Barsanti seems to not understand how snark actually works.

“Pop” music is more creative than most genres of music.

Eh, started as songwriter for country and made the move to fronting her own material.

I’ve a sneaking suspicion that Barsanti absolutely despises Taylor Swift

I dunno that sounds like the name of an abstinence educator.

The show is not wholly unrealistic regarding that aspect. I've shared risalamande, Danish pastry and coffee with just about every politician of notice in Denmark, and I'm basically just a glorified stooge. Being down-to-earth and affable is seen as a great virtue and high-and-mighty and aloof authority figures are

"Deciding to go to the right wing to get what she wants", this is very common in Denmark (And i imagine other countries with proportional representation) even in cases where the ruling coalition* has a total majority, it is not uncommon for it to compromise across the aisle to insure the future of the proposal.

I like that Danish for "spin doctor" is spin doctor.
