This may be my favorite interview ever.

Even if I agree that this is an item created “solely to be collected and has no other purpose” (which I don’t, it can be listened to, after all), that still indicates that it has at least one purpose, and that is to be collected. If it were pointless, it would lack purpose entirely.

“Pointless Collectable” is an interesting phrase that almost borders on the redundant, except that people value things, which give them meaning. Is there a point to owning a shitload of stamps or classic nes games or whatever thing? Of course there is. You like them, so you want them. That’s the point.
