It has good aero — the original design Ford did made unusable amounts of front lift, so they completely redesigned the car around ensuring aerodynamic stability — but the big issue is that the dry-sump engine can take incredible amounts of boost and make stupid horsepower.

All of the above, more or less. The GT’s gearbox is basically indestructible, the engine is a great base for huge power, and the shape is very stable at speed. Gallardos are pretty common as well.
