I thought the shirt was just scolding that friend we all have who says “maybe” to social invitations when they have no intention of actually accepting.

“After lots of thought, we decided to name it I’m Awesome, because, well, you know.”

Maybe they should move it to New Year’s Eve?

I sure wasn’t. Scroll to the top and see.

I spent 20 minutes googling and couldn’t find anything and was just asking for your help, since you seem to know about the stats.

Can you point me to the statistics? I’ve done my own searches and asked other commenters for links, and can’t find anything.

I’ve asked this question of others and gotten no response, but you and I have tended to agree on most issues, so hopefully we can give each other the benefit of the doubt and you’ll trust I’m not just a shit-stirrer . . .

I’ve heard before that this is extremely common. I’m sure it happens, and this case is probably an example; do you know of any studies that attempt to quantify it?

I’ve heard this stated before and I’m sure it does happen, but I’m curious how common it is.

He probably meant “scapegoat,” but didn’t understand the difference.

Thanks. That does seem to fit the bill. And, I actually prefer Windows over OS X, but (and I know this might sound crazy), I like the trackpad on Macs so much, that I’m probably going to stick with them for my next machine.

You linked to a document from 1982. By 2000, his position had changed.

“You don’t get to weasel your way out of this one, dear. You implied that Hillary was evil for not supporting gay marriage soon enough.”

He wasn’t against gay marriage per se, he was against states making that determination. Big difference.

That’s absolutely untrue. In 2000, Sanders supported civil unions.

So true. But at least I’m not mean and miserable.

You’re wrong.

That’s exactly right.

Of course it was sarcastic. But it’s just as reasonable to read that sarcasm as directed at the author, as in, “Gee, your criticism of Clinton would be great . . . if it wasn’t for the facts.”

* Never claimed Sanders has always been in favor of same-sex marriage. Was just pointing out that the OP’s claim (which, apparently, was a joke) was wrong.
