Yep. After my grandparents moved west my grandma worked and didn’t have time to bake like she did on the farm, so she used frozen Rhodes bread, but my grandpa always made the sandwiches. Velveeta on thick slices of fresh-baked Rhodes bread toasted in the little side broiler in their oven from the 50s. THE. BEST. EVER.

I wish someone would tell the worship leaders at my family’s church that clapping should be banned. The all white congregation with a median age of 65 just can’t worship like it is a tent revival. The guitarist has a little bit of rhythm guitar going on there, but most people aren’t going to catch it. I think it is funny that they end up clapping on 1, 2, 3, and 4 toward the end. Just clap all the time, people, because that makes it soooo much better!

Except modern popular music doesn’t follow the classical pattern of music theory. It emphasizes the backbeat, rather than the downbeat. Listen to some familiar classical music and you will hear the stressed 1 & 3 (Bach’s Brandenburg #5 and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons are good to hear it. If you want a little more
