Seriously. White supremacist groups have been advising their members to join the military for training. The military is aware that this is happening, but really hasn’t done much about it.

You really gotta add women at the end, like just another commodity?

As an aside, what are you really fighting for when you demand to keep a word that a large group of people is bothered by, or that a group of experts finds pejorative?”

As a recent discoverer of the Dresden files, I like “vampire & thrall”.

I can agree with some of the justifications but whitelist/blacklist I will never understand. I have yet to see a valid argument since the term is not by nature racist or specifically pointing out the racism in America. I just had a discussion with my wife on how when using these terms in tech it has been more of an

I get master/slave. It isn’t really necessary at all, and more descriptive terms are actually better in most cases.

This is your regular reminder that planning and organization in the leadup to this, when we all could see what was coming, likely would have mitigated the effects, at least of the shutdowns if not the disease itself. Particularly with the executive branch of the federal government, which in all but the most

The stock market is not the economy.

This pandemic is very quickly showing which people have never been told “no” before

No, do not ‘trust your gut,’ we have leaders all over the US doing that and people are going to die because of it. Trust experts and organizations dedicated to public health and safety.

Reality is, if people actually social distanced, and actually washed their hands, and actually stayed in, we wouldn’t be facing a point

The initial CDC advice was an exercise in CYA to avoid exacerbating the national PPE shortage AND to protect POTUS’ delicate feelings. Notice whether initially or currently the CDC advice on wearing masks has NEVER suggested there is any downside for the user in wearing a mask.

The fact that a significant portion of the public expects scientists, the media and the government to immediately understand everything about a virus previously unknown to man is illustrative of a much bigger problem.

The line outside Home Depot on Sunday stretched across the width of the building. Driving by what was queued up to get in the store made me decide to just keep going. I went home and ordered the things I needed off Amazon.

The answer is always bacon. Always.

I’ve got multiple cast iron pans and long ago I decided that a little extra fat in my diet was an easy price to pay to not have to take the time to season. I cook everything with a little olive oil or butter or other fat and then just clean the pan like any other, with soap and hot water. I then dry it and put it back

Tell the person holding the gun to your head and forcing you to read this that they’re not practicing proper social distancing.

If you were so open-minded, this wouldn’t bug you. Religion is clearly not for everyone, but it also clearly helps millions of people live happier lives. You don’t have to participate in it if it’s not for you, but that does not mean you should put others down for doing something that does not affect you.
