There is a certain sad poetry in the idea that the motorcycle brand that embodies all of America’s worst tendencies is poised to be stabbed in the back by the president that also embodies all of America’s worst tendencies.

Now playing

Westfalia - When it matters more that other people know you’re going camping.

Sounds like you need to get a little further out of LA county? We camp in the desert for free all the time...

Yea I understand that, but the OP’s post was saying that if you modified your car and got rid of the OE parts you are now in a pickle. Either return it with your aftermarket parts still attached or try to rebuy OE parts, because if you return it on steelies and bald tires they have the ability to deny your buy back. I

That lawyer would lose.

The company screwing over customers does not like customers returning the favor.

There has already been a report on the VW forums of a TDI owner being denied because his turbo was blown.

Was there a big aftermarket scene for VW diesel cars?

Crybabies. This edict from the liars who advertised their “clean diesels”.

I think that there is too much disgression on the VW side of things about which cars they will buy back and which ones they won’t. This is a pretty clear example that, despite what the outcome of the lawsuit proclaimed, VW is passing judgement on fully operational vehicles. They are not supposed to do that. For

VW deserves all the hassle they can get from disgruntled buyers. The company isn’t doing anything voluntarily or out of the goodness of their hearts. They got caught in a massive fraud. They should be banned from the country IMO.

There is nothing morally wrong with fucking over scammers like VW. If you can get away with it, you should. They brought this shit on themselves. They havent paid enough and never will.

Vandalized? How about we pretend it looks mint just like you pretended it met EPA emission standards when I purchased it? Sounds fair to me.

I don’t blame the owners one bit for some vengeance against VeeDub. These shitheads spent how many years with their ads touting how “clean” their diesels are? So they expect customers to be glad for being put thru these hassles?

Volkswagen lied, cheated, and broke the law. Leave it to internet comments sections to condemn the people who are having a little bit of cheeky and, let’s be honest here, completely harmless revenge.

If VW doesn’t like these cars coming back without fenders or My Little Pony piss paint jobs, then perhaps THEY

Obviously the opinion of someone not directly affected by the situation. When you consider the scope of the fraud, the inconvenience experience by those affected, the financial loss (nobody is making money on this buyback), etc. they have every right to be a little pissed off and want to “stick it to the man.” Sure,

My father here in Canada has to wait to March to get any money from VW. So what are you to do, you cannot sell the and therefore its worthless, yet he is still paying for a loan on it. He wanted to get another 2 years out of it, but after VW said they would buy it back he stopped maintaining it a year ago... but VW

The dude is A-OK in my book. (“Petty”—say whut?) Whiners getting on Mayer’s case need to grasp a couple of facts:

I mean, considering Volkswagen deliberately lied about their emissions and caused a huge issue, taking time/money from everyone involved. I think them complaining about “good spirit” is a bit hypocritical.

It’s getting crushed anyways. Until VW releases a plan to reuse the vehicles(Spec TDI), they should be forced to accept any that meet legal registration requirements, which vary by state and location.
