YEP this exaclty.  Which, since I think it looks awesome, points to why Ford should make a smaller Stang and call it a Capri.  Ecoboost 3 or 4 under the hood, same size as a BRZ and profit!  

That’s because all mid engine cars are kind of “similar” looking. Personally I think it looks like a Ferrari body designed by Lamborghini.

I learned a new term lately. What you describe is logarithmic thinking. Basically perceiving things in terms of ratios rather than discreet numerical changes. 

I will point out that there are advantages to using skeuomorphic instruments in a car: Standard analog sweeps have the benefit that they can be read at a glance - and most experienced drivers are really good at it (the human brain is _good_ at it ...)

Why hasn’t someone made a low cost, mass produced Ariel Atom or xBow? Pull the good suspension bits from a mass produced car, a mass produced naturally aspirated inline 3 or 4 in transverse orientation (or just pull something from a motorcycle...), and shove all that into a naked chassis.
