I'm an atheist and if this movie turns out to be a lecture I probably won't like it. However, The Rapture, as a movie subject, is perfectly fine. There's no need to portray scientists as evil for a movie like this. No need to show, for example, an abortion clinic being dragged down to hell or something stupid like

Is this relevant because religion is science fiction?

Now playing

Max von Sydow?

Also adding...

With David Bowie as Hagbard Celine naturally.

I've long been a fan of Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus trilogy and have always thought it would make for a great miniseries or movie.

aside from safety, it just makes more sense that anyone about to leave gathers in one common spot before departing, that way they know where the other party members are, and what direction they're facing, which could be critical in diplomatic or security issues. The transporter room often doubles as a greeting hall,

Ah! But that makes sense too. It's a fantasy where he's constantly got something to do because the whole place is always moments away from falling apart at the seams, has plenty of time to see his family, has a best friend who listens to all his woes & goes on adventures with him, and then, just to keep himself

Now I'm imagining that all of DS9 was just a Walter-Mitty-like fantasy that O'Brien concocted to relieve the boredom and monotony of his days in the transporter room.

Oh my God, it's full of stars!*

If regret had a face, it would surely be his.

" ...as a part of Operation Upshot-Knothole."

One episode the show was about a guy who was a monkey about to get shot into space, the next time I watched an episode the same actor was playing a guy with down syndrome, the last time I tuned in that he was a pregnant woman (I guess they were doing a remake of Junior?)!

LOST will always be my favorite show of all time (probably, or at least it's close to the top), but I have to agree. They just chucked a lot of good plot threads out the window in that hodgepodge of a final season. It's all great, but with a little more time and some better direction, it could've been so much greater.

Jeez, people in the UK need to stop burning plastics for heat.

Both, I guess? I just don't see any proof that higher intelligence = non aggression. At least giving our own behaviour.

Are you talking about us, or them?
