There’s very little that’s more moving than service members coming home safely from a deployment.

Confirmed. The Honda DI 2.4 is the best NA four on the market right now.
Golf. The new 1.8T is an absolute sweetheart.
If you read reviews of the F30, you get a consistent message: “it’s too soft, there’s no steering feel, the engine is unrefined, and the interior feels cheap.” Some of them send this message despite maintaining an overall positive tone, but such is automotive journalism where people are hoping not to lose access. You…
I think only Volvo has tried a transverse inline six. It was an unusually compact engine in a midsize car, and the car still has a ludicrously wide turning radius. I don’t think it would work with a smaller, narrower BMW.
You’re a little too generous. The 7 is an afterthought in its segment. The 5 sells well, but isn’t a critical favorite. The X3 has gotten consistently mixed reviews. The 3 is selling like gangbusters, but critics pretty much hate it. They’re coasting on reputation right now, and they need to turn it around or they’ll…
Yeah, it’s different. The HiPer only came in in the middle of the current generation. It gives the FWD car a bit of a FWD-biased AWD feel. Mutes torque steer considerably and makes the power feel more usable.
I’d be surprised if you’ve driven a current-gen LaCrosse. The reason I like it is that it’s so much more controlled when turning on power than most heavy FWD cars. But it is just plain big and heavy for roads in a lot of Europe.
Well, my experience is in high-power V6 sedans. I’d single out the 304-hp Buick LaCrosse with HiPer struts as a good example. Also coming quickly to mind are various Accord V6es/Acura TLs. Are they fun at 10/10ths? No. Do they feel like they have too much power? Not at all.
I’ve driven some excellent 260-300 hp FWD cars. It’s about suspension geometry.
Two things...
Not a fan of the GT-R sound, but it’s not as offensive as the regular RWD VQ cars. I think the turbos must help.
That awful exhaust note is probably the reason I don’t own one. I thought hard about buying a new G37 6MT when I bought my G8. But the want just wasn’t there, and on reflection the sound is a big part of the reason why. It’s hollow, tinny, cheap, and penetrating. Awful. And especially in contrast with LS3 bellowing…
1) What does white mean?
I’m not convinced that the PP is profitable given its cost and the included hardware. I think it’s a calculation about media coverage: they’ll get great coverage for the PP priced as is, but if they price it too high, the media will complain about the pricing and they’ll lose some of the benefit. If I’m right, you…
Did not ask about ordering... the process is opaque enough to scare me. With Ford, you are subject to a production order formula that no one outside of Ford fully understands, which means your car could be built in a few weeks or over 6 months. And that’s if the dealer will even give you a reasonable deal for a car…
Yes, it’s “available” in theory. No, there aren’t actually many around. I’ve been able to find around five at dealers around the country, none in my area.
Mechanical LSDs are expensive and VW doesn’t want to use any more than it absolutely has to to get the good press from having one technically on offer.
This drives me crazy, in general. All sorts of carmakers make great products or configurations and then make it impossible to buy them.
You’ll probably be fine if you don’t raise the fuel cutoff rpm as part of a tune. That seems to be the source of many of the failures.
