I think the bad points are the same reason I dropped Monogatari series after Nekomonogatari. I thoroughly enjoyed the first season but it was a bore to watch and just random fanservice stuff put in around Nisemonogatari.

I always enjoyed cartoons when I was a kid, read Dragon Ball and was REALLY into Madou King Granzort. As a pure anime crazy guy, I think the first few shows I watched was Love Hina, Chobits, Full Metal Panic and Steel Angel Kurumi.

As a person who only watched the cartoon show, the divergence of Rei's character was extremely jarring. I don't hate it, but it made me wonder if me thinking Rei as a bickering duo with Usagi back in the days were just in my mind.

TBH i don't really watch much shoujo, but recently most of the ones I watched were more aligned to be Otome-style shoujo; kinda like reverse harem. Ao Haru Ride I think is better cos its going back to the traditional boy and girl development, AFAIK.
