Counterpoint: Miatas are low volume and have less vehicles to spread development costs across on their unique platform. Mazda is not exactly swimming in cash. Miatas have no direct competition in the small RWD convertible department.

Well I am a rotary nerd, who owned an RX8 and loved it, and I couldn’t agree more. I think that Mazda will still tinker with rotary for fun, but under the current regulatory drive, it is not a viable engine choice, and if you have to replace a really smooth high revving engine with something, a turbo straight 6 pushes…

If we can have a “Turbo” electric Porsche or a Mercedes AMG “63” with a 4.0 liter engine, then why not an RX with an in-line 6?

I don’t care what ends up under the hood (as long as it makes 300+ hp) and I don’t care what they end up calling it.... just please bring the RX-Vision to production....
