Just have to make one or two small compromises  ;)

Yea, I mean, choice is always good. The M4 is compromised in some ways. The GT4 RS is compromised in some ways. Why yuck someone's yums?

You remind me of a friend in highscool, who told me cars are lame because a fighter jet is faster than any car can possibly ever be.    You must be a fighter pilot!

I will die on the, “if it’s not a 5-seater, it’s not a hot hatch” hill. I hate it because they turned it into a 4-seater. Why? There are tons of other4-seaters that handle well at a reasonable (for 2023) price. Why, Honda, Why?

Good to see that someone in charge is not making assumptions about potentially spurious correlations and actually doing something about testing some of these assumptions...

amazing analysis of the -- now turns out -- crime scene!

I love Mazdas (still today). Everything about this car to me was what was great about the 1990s.

Looks like hatchbacks are making a big come-back. They call it “compact SUV” (or is this more of a crossover? which means what again?) to confuse us.

IMO it’s purely for the looks. If utility were a real priority for buyers, minivans would sell in the millions, not crossovers (whatever a crossover really is???). We tell ourselves one thing, but it’s the styling that gets us writing 72-month checks to banks.

I have no modern small car to compare to, so my complaint is probably completely unfounded. Our 2017 Sienna gets high-20s in a similar route, so I feel like the 31 I get for a car that’s 1600 pounds lighter should be much better? I guess it’s the law of diminishing returns or something ...

We have a minivan for long trips like Nova Scotia. :)

Mazda3 hatch, manual. I can haul my family of 5 for around town and 1-hr trips. The 2.5 L could do better with the MPGs tho ...

Sorry, can’t upload pictures despite several tries. Supposed to be of a 2017 Toyota Sienna

This thing puts down nearly 300 hp, plenty of grip with affordable tire swap ... a friend tells me it can easily go over 100 mph and a set of Michelin Sport A/S 3 will work wonders in the twisties.

For 99% of drivers (ie zero intention of taking a DD to the track), this is a win-win. Sure, a sedan might be better, but there is no other 5-seater Aston made

Watkins Glen was the only real track I ever drove, also a few “paced” laps probably like you did.
During the first lap, my wife realized that the guy behind us hung back really far for a reason, told me to do it too.

That’s my thought. You have to be pretty unlucky to have a run-in with aircraft, and be pretty stupid to just keep up the 100-plus speed for a long distance if they probably can’t get your plates read ...

Granted it’s orange, but corvettes (even a C8) are pretty common and if this guy just left the highway, not sure the police would have been able to specifically identify the perp? Presumably a gray M5 or something would have a pretty easy time getting away with it because they were clearly too fast for a plate

It’s funny (sad) that so many people whine about gas prices, but I have not seen people slow down to even close to the speed limit on roads. I remember people used to take some interest in hypermiling.

This is America, where rich people are rich because they make good decisions, and poor people are poor because they make poor choices!!!
