I’m a bit surprised MB didn’t go with the I6 for the “entry level” SL. That engine has to be smoother than the 4 cylinder (and sounds better too). But I suppose you are right, the new 4 cylinder is going to make its way into a host of AMG products going forward, so why not also the SL.

Note to seller:

$36k for a 7 year old car that was $42k or so new?  With a tune?  No thanks.

That side profile.. fan-fuckin’-tastic.

What is going on here!!? Did BMW lay off their entire design team? Where are the huge buck teeth?

There is a long history of especially cruel concept cars: from gorgeous design details that would never pass any sort of pedestrian safety tests to novel propulsion systems, but this is in the special category of cars that absolutely exist in a parallel worldline, and my god how I want it (in my fantasy this also has

In some ways, this could work really well:
- The undercarriage can be completely smooth without transfer cases, exhaust, transmissions and other bits hanging off of it.
- Lower CG with the batteries down low and no engine up high.
- Better individual wheel torque vectoring
- Assloads of torque
- Finer control for trail

‘No one uses a Wrangler for it’s stated purposes’ is just the most ridiculous thing. Sure people buy them and drive them to the mall with the air conditioner on. But I see them all the time, two door, four door, and that goofy pickup, with the roof open or off, and one or more pairs of doors missing. That’s enough for

Stupid raised hood. I hate these new raised truck hoods. Also that silhouette clearly is showing off rear control arms, so it’s going to be coil sprung.

I loved the first gen interior. Just a very nice place to be in.

Love it or hate, the CLS was revolutionary, introducing the four-door coupe to the automotive industry.

I’m going to say it probably won’t be missed much. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems solidly in the non memorable car category. I mean that in the sense that I think many other cars leave a lasting impression on their owners long after they have moved on, but I don’t get the feeling this car had that special magic. I

Lots of psychopaths with homicidal fantasies in the grays today. Property destruction = death sentence. Yet I have a strange feeling that most of them think that January 6th was a peaceful protest.

The BMW that the Supra shares most with is the Z4, which, while certainly still not what one might call beautiful, does look better than the more modern M2, I think. The Supra is probably still overall a nicer looking car, but that’s a fairly low bar to clear.

That’s something that’s hard to not notice, how rich people in general seem to have much poorer taste now compared to the past. You see it in many areas, cars, art, architecture, they all have such mundane, pedestrian tastes.

Dealers stocking only high end cars, Manufactures only making high end models. They both say “see people are not buying lower priced cars”

Take the subway? You’re talking about a very small percentage of the country who has this option.

Back in my day we had a better class of rich person, either driving a magnificent luxury sedan or a sports car like a 911. Now we have people spending 80k on a Tahoe that drives like a fancy U-Haul and that has such poor forward viability that every child or rock within a 10-foot radius is in imminent danger.

I don’t doubt that “some plurality” of buyers think a Challenger or Charger may appreciate in value. In my case, I bought a Challenger, used, about 3 years ago and at this point I would most certainly get my full price paid back again if I were to list it for sale today. Possibly even get slightly more. But that’s not

I don’t understand why Dodge is halting production on those two cars. They are both ancient and so by now all of the bugs have been worked out, they are cheaper to build and clearly people will buy them no matter how aged the platforms are. If they sell and are profitable.... shy stop?
