I agree, utterly revolting. Just send Europe the Mach-E, and use those development dollars to give us the Capri nameplate back as the world’s first fun and affordable sporty EV. It would absolutely print money.

I always thought that the Capri name would be perfect for a slightly smaller 2 seater using the mustang ecoboost platform. Would be a heck of a brz/gt86 fighter, and we could enjoy the ecoboost drivetrain without the stigma of ‘should have gotten the V8'.
Because Ford Dealers. Its not worth the hassle of dealing with dealers who are pricing Mavericks at F-150 levels. Makes it unappealing.
They need to focus on fitting a good-looking car on top of that engine.
I think your point of not aging as well depends on the time frame. For instance early 90's German cars vs early 90's Japanese cars is a stark difference. Japan caught up in the later half of the 90's and early 2000's though. But even around 2010 it was lopsided again, take a mid-level Japanese car from that era vs the…
This list should just catalog everything dodge has done since the Hellcat was announced. Job done. Job done *awesomely.*
I think the better historical parallel is the use of gas for lighting in the late 19th century. It was such an improvement over candles that everyone started falling over themselves to use gas lighting everywhere. By 1920, gas lighting was an anachronism and seen as a now (then) dangerous part of residential…
Came here to say exactly this. Current horsepower numbers are crazy. The only reason most of these vehicles even stay on the road, is because of the litany of engineering and computer science miracles that are constantly compensation for a lack of driving skill and care.
It’s not a fixed number. The horsepower of the vehicle isn’t the issue, it’s the ability of the driver to handle it. I’ve known people who could (and did) handle 600hp in the rain at night with zero issues, and I’ve known people who wrapped 95hp cars around trees in clear/dry/bright.
Pretty much all of them. I’ve seen people comment with a perfectly straight face that it’s unsafe to merge on a freeway if you don’t have at least 200hp. I’ve never owned a car in my life which came anywhere close to that and yet somehow I manage to get up to freeway speed and merge alive. I daily drove a 95hp…
Sources? As an engineer in the industry this contradicts everything I’ve seen.
Do you have any sources whatsoever you can cite to support your claim re: lithium and contradict his? Or were you just hoping for stars with zero accountability?
Oh thank God. I thought I was the only one.
Sure, Mazda is premium. I loved my manual 2021 Mazda 3 Hatch that was quieter and more comfortable on the freeway than the 2016 328D it replaced.
It is pretty funny how the Corvette’s improved design language has led to these Italian exotics looking cheaper. The C7 looked a lot like the V12 FR Ferraris of its period, but instead of it being seen exclusively as a positive for the Corvette, it just made the Ferrari look uneventful.
It’s pretty neat, but that’s about all the reaction it’s getting from me. Maybe it’ll change when these come out into the wild, but it doesn’t seem as groundbreaking as the Aventador was at launch.
Not that I’m siding with the Russians, but it does seem kind of dumb that it’s literally illegal for the plane to take off, but it’s still getting charged parking fees. Seems like a situation to have a waiver for one empty flight of only crew to bring it out of the country
Yeah, I think if it had been a foot higher and had a hatchback, it would have sold like candy.
