If Ezra was Marrok how could he have made it back when Thrawn didn’t? They also wouldn’t need the star map because he would know the way.

All the other major streaming services and studios are pulling the same crap. Disney are just the latest. Rather than killing off the providers, the solution is to close down this loophole in the tax law which allows them to get away with it in the first place.
This isn’t just a Disney thing. Most of the other studios are pulling the same crap. Snowpiercer is one good example. TNT decided not to air the fourth and final season after it had finished filming. Or even Batgirl. This is a loophole that they all take advantage of.
Add Snowpiercer to this list. The fourth and final series completed filming and post production but was again buried for a tax write off by TNT. It was one of the few times Sean Bean didn’t get killed off (or at least not yet).
I’m looking forward to seeing it next week but the release feels a bit muted. Maybe part of that is bad timing, arriving when Barbenheimer is still dominating cinemas. Blue Beetle isn’t even getting an Imax release in our cinema (or possibly anywhere?). For a superhero movie that feels unusual.
If they are going to do another Flash movie just go with the character of Wally West altogether. They can imply that Barry Allen is out there somewhere or just lost in the speed force. Wally also has less angst attached to his character and is reasonably well adjusted for a super hero.
The truth is that Star Wars is really fantasy with science fiction elements. A big part of most fantasy series (LOTR, Game of Thrones etc) is a map. Most fantasy books include at least one map somewhere at the start of the book. Even the whole ‘A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away’ could be something lifted from…
It wouldn’t be that hard to remake Dark Forces to bring it into the line with the new canon. It would be nice to get a new Star Wars game that wasn’t as focussed on Force users. It wouldn’t be that hard to find ways of connecting it to Andor and Rogue One.
Covid was still an issue when filming so it might have partially been due to that.
Do you expect them to clone Nichelle Nichols, Majel Barrett and Booker Bradshaw? Every actor brings their own interpretation to the role and will do it differently than those who came before them.
They never explicitly state in Arena that it is their first encounter with the Gorn. They don’t even know they are dealing with the Gorn until Kirk has been transported to the planet. You could take it as implied with how Kirk reacts to the name of the Gorn species but it is never explicitly stated. Spock and Scotty…
Kirk had just as many screw ups. Picard also had his Enterprise hijacked a few times.
I think another ambiguity is how genuine is Rah? He talks a lot about peace and wanting to be the peacemaker but was that sincere or just about his own ego? Once he learns that M’Benga and Chapel had first hand experience of the battle he doesn’t apologise for the orders he gave, instead he tried to dodge…
Can’t have any levity or try something different in their Trek. It apparently has to be super serious all the time.
You mean we might get a Mission Impossible movie that doesn’t involve Cruise performing some over the top stunt for the adrenaline rush?
I’m really looking forward to seeing how they cast Thor and Loki, especially just to differentiate from the MCU versions.
Blaming DC and Marvel for franchise movies is a bit short sighted. Did we forget the Mission Impossible franchise, Fast and Furious, Transformers etc? Or even James Bond? At the end of the day franchises appeal to studios because they see it as a way of making more money from a built in audience. As soon as a movie…
Big Finish have really done justice to both of them. They even found a good way of explaining the regeneration from Colin Baker to Sylvester McCoy.
I think part of the problem with restoring DS9 is the cost of having to redo all the space battle scenes from scratch because the original companies that did all those effects are no longer around. I don’t know if it’s a similar problem with Voyager.
I got to see a lot of DS9 and VOY thanks to a similar arrangement here in Cork. Even when RTE did decide to show science fiction shows they tended to be way behind and sometimes they might just vanish from the schedules with no explanation.
