Because no one knows what it actually consists of. Will those 1000 (half, by the way, of the # of jobs being cut) workers be forced to take pay/benefit cuts? Will Carrier get more exclusive government contracts as a result of this ‘deal’? It’s a bit too soon to now whether this is actually a positive thing.

I think the design this is quite subjective. I have no problems turning mine off with one finger push. I’ve never knocked it over or into a wall or even moved it, really. But maybe that’s my complete lack of upper-body strength?

If not for the extreme response on the part of the neighbors (the 24/7 surveillance, the odd biblical quote signs) I’d say you had a reasonable point. Boy, I’ve had the complete opposite experience. Also got mine about a year ago and I love it. Controls are very intuitive to me. The button to turn the alarm off is the same exact button to turn it on, so I’m not sure why you’d have trouble turning it off.
