Looks like Jeannine Pirro after a commercial break.
I wish I could sue him for all those precious minutes of my life that I wasted on acknowledging his existence that I’m never getting back.
Wow its been a while, Drew Carey with the big white beard is blowing my mind.
I miss Pitch. Kylie Bunbury was a stone cold fox. I thought this show had potential, though it was never quite the “Friday Night Lights of baseball” I hoped it would be. Lines like “She’s a Kardashian with a skill set” were really cringey and the show made a bad habit of this a bit too often.
I only watched an episode or two towards the end and thought it was generally decent. But it was incredibly disappointing that they didn’t let Ginny get through even half a season without hooking up with a teammate. *Especially* a pitcher and her catcher, where that would legitimately be a distraction
I really liked this show, but knew it was a long shot even while watching it. It was trying to bring together two audiences— rabid, largely male, largely white baseball fans and viewers of stories about young black women—who didn’t necessarily feel a strong need to be together. Baseball has never been my favorite…
I’m guessing they wanted her to have a fastball to tamp down on any sort of double-oddity/gimmick complaints: “A woman playing baseball AND she’s a knuckleballer?! It’s bad enough she doesn’t have a penis, but I just can’t watch a show about a knuckleballer.”
“(Pitch still engaged in a bit of fantasy, as Ginny’s fastball topped out at 87 mph, while the fastest overhand pitch ever thrown by a woman in real life was actually clocked at 69 mph.)“
Maybe a blue jeans cannon, to cement in Ned’s mind that going casual is the kiss of death?
Errrrrr ...
Wasn’t the old southern butter cooking lady briefly cancelled for this exact same bullshit before 2018?
It is difficult to put in to words how utterly insane that Harrison interview was so I can only recommend watching it. Also the Higher Learning podcast, which is cohosted by Rachel Lindsay who did the interview in question, does a good job in explaining certain decisions and context of it.
I always think of “Song of the South” when I hear these kinds of defenses. That is a film that people LOVE to jump on the “well, it wasn’t considered racist back then.” And it’s like no, it was. Read the criticism from the time. Read about what some of the people who worked on it thought. It was racist then just like…
It’s so wild to me because it seems that when dumbasses say stuff like “No one cared about racism in 2018! Getting mad at white people for having antebellum themed parties or doing blackface or getting married on plantations is 2021 energy!”... they really mean it. They are so insulated from black people that they…
It’s Montessori, so probably vaccinations.
Know what most of the schools there don’t allow you to opt out of?
I can’t be the only one who had no idea Gorilla Glue even had a spray version? I should get some for that rogue leg on my coffee table... *strokes chin*
I look forward to reading a new hair-related warning label on future gorilla glue bottles.
