Yeah, that's a SPOILER from an episode or two in, revealed while showing Alec's ½brother in prison.

Intelligence is a truly great show, one sadly canceled by short-sighted programmers. At least we have Ian Tracey in Continuum. Let's hope his role expands this season (I'm watching Canadian-style, so I won't say if that's actually happening.)

Well-played, sir or madam.

You know, I almost mentioned VLC, but didn't want to geek out too much. Well done to you for taking the plunge. VLC will play just about anything. Helps to have a laptop w/HDMI out port.

It wasn't inconvenient for Hannibal to have Gideon dead, by Will's hand or any other. Those would've been some interesting interrogations, Gideon talking them through Hannibal's let's-fuck-with-Will scene.

More sexy Gillian Anderson can currently be found in The Fall, where she plays a horny detective. Admittedly, her hornitude isn't her character's defining trait, but it's there. Also, Gillian Anderson swimming. Would it be easier for everyone if she changed her name to Scully? Just the one word, mind.

You guys fetishize your fancy knives all you like. All I need is my trusty ginsu. "As seen on TV" speaks of a quality to which other knives only pretend.

Before "I said it was mild," there was "that doesn't seem to bother you," which was even more amusing for being delivered by Eddie Izzard, who is so goddamn funny in his own right. That one line felt like an Eddie Izzard line as much as a Gideon, in a good way.

Yes. Region-free DVD players are cheap & easy to find. Many will also play most any ol' video file, legally acquired or otherwise. My old school Oppo, for example, is perfect in that regard. Also, alibris.com is a good place to find used DVD sets. Found a pristine copy of a nether regions The World at War there once

I forgot the rules, so I don't know if Intelligence is eligible. Not that I've watched a ton of Canadian drama, but this one is outstanding. Shame on Canada for cancelling it! I love Ian Tracey. I hope he becomes more central to the story in Continuum.

No boat missing. A Very British Coup was the "inspiration" for last year's The Secret State, with Gabriel Byrne. Not too much in common, & too short, probably due to budget cuts, but worth watching nevertheless.

You are not alone. I've heard of it, watched a few episodes. I have no taste so it didn't do much for me. Kind of a Big Brother with zombies, IIRC, which I probably don't.

That's pretty much exactly Broen/Bron, only they're on the Øresund bridge. And it'll be the same as the FX channel's The Bridge, which I think might be airing this summer, maybe set in Laredo or El Paso.

I'm currently watching the 2nd season of Hatufim/Prisoners of War. Still grim, and I'm still unable to turn away. Still far, far better than 2nd season of Homeland, though comparisons became apples to oranges fairly early into season one of both. It's just a really fantastic show, and an interesting window into life

Hey now, don't you be calling it overblown. Shame on you. I thought they did a good job with the red herrings. Just enough info to make them interesting, but not so OTT as to be ridiculously obvious or laughable. Plus the pulsating theme at the end of each episode as they show each group of main characters is never

Shadow Line , yes. One of the best things on UK television 2 summers ago. Bonus points for intro credits song by Emily Barker.

Jessica Hyde isn't a very nice person. She's paranoid, and thinks there's this vast, super secret conspiracy out to get her. You know, Jessica, not everything's about you!

So, is NZ television worse than Australian? I'm currently watching Harry, & recently finished The Blue Rose. Can't beat a little Sam Neill now and again.

Dramafever! Time to watch Isabel. Thanks K. Thrace.

Blasphemer!
