I don’t really recall the mythology too well. I remember it was something like the Bell Witch and then there was something with a man being possessed by the witch and murdering children.

If I remember right, had Book of Shadows not bombed, the studio had planned to make a third film that would have been a period piece

Well, I guess it’s kind of wishy-washy. I don’t think the film makers set out with all the meta backstory. It was an indie that got swooped up by a major studio at one of the indie festivals and then the studio and the film makers just built this great marketing campaign around it.

If you saw the film when it was

Yeah, the whole mythology that they built was great but the film just kind of goes into the Cliff Notes summary.

Did anyone else enjoy the marketing for the original (the website, the television mockumentary) way more than the actual film?

They do. But Barbie doesn’t dominate the fashion doll market like she used too. Mattel’s probably not losing any sleep though because aside from MGA’s Bratz and Hasbro’s Disney Princess line, they own Barbie’s biggest competition Monster/Ever After High and recently launched DC’s Superhero Girls.

Given the supernatural

Actually, they don’t have ‘decency’ laws to contend with. In theory, short of hardcore pornography, you can show anything you want on cable television.

It seems like they wanted a J.R. Ewing or Jon Snow cliffhanger that people would be talking about for months but in the end, fans were angry for about a week, then nobody cared.

That’s right. Because Velma cares more about stopping corrupt amusement park owners in rubber Halloween masks from swindling their insurance providers than she does about beefcake. Velma puts her job first.

Because, Mattel is supposedly having some financial troubles and Barbie is more popular with adult collectors than with children. They did do a Monster High Ghostbusters doll.

It never really says. A few characters do ask if he’s American Indian, but it’s strongly implied his mother died of Sickle Cell Disease, so the implication is that he’s at least half African American.

Mattel has been making Ghostbusters action figures for a few years now. I believe this is the first time that they’ve been mass released though, previously they were only available via Mattel’s recently defunct MattyCollector.com.
Wednesday, while shopping with my nephew after his doctor visit, I did see a little girl

What’s weird, is that in ‘Morocco’ she was a trans man and it’s a recurring joke (it even comes up in an episode of Roseanne featuring Edina and Patsy) according to Patsy, she became a woman again when ‘it fell off’.

Also, there are episodes that contradict Patsy being a trans woman, like the one where they find out

I believe it comes up pretty early in the “Morocco” but it’s explained that Patsy transitioned into a man and (weirdly) it’s brought up in their guest-appearance in Roseanne when Jackie mistakes Patsy for a drag queen and Patsy explains that she was a man for brief period until ‘it fell off’.

But yeah, the show implies

Except people don’t just say hate speech should be protected as free speech. Hate speech is protected by the First Amendment and if you think otherwise, then you’re just denying facts.

It is wrong that I’m picturing your friend as Velma from Scooby-Doo?

I mean, those old Warner cartoons that depicted blacks with oversized lips and eating watermelons were comedy too, that doesn’t make them any less offensive.

Also, if you’re the only person engaging in this discussion with me, then saying that I take it too seriously is a bit of a pot and kettle situation.

I think you mean genre and it’s intended to be satire. You keep writing it off as a comedy but here’s a fun fact; satire is often, although not always, in the form of comedy.

Maybe people got upset because less than a century ago, eugenics was widely accepted and one of it’s biggest advocates a man and his political

“Now hoop rolling, there’s a game that requires smarts and skills.”

“If we wanted to see little monsters running around, we’d drop acid like normal folk.”

Were the Kabuki Twins brought into the comics like Harley? I remember them being one of the only thing that I really liked about The Batman.
