A man who admits to his mistakes is something to be proud of. As long as there is remorse. Redemption is supposed to be the mentality behind the justice system, it has been warped into a form of torment. Hate begets hate, violence begets violence. Perhaps we should find what facilitated that behavior to begin with.

And this is the mentality that corrupt/vigilante police officers use when doing reprehensible/illegal things. “He probably did a million other things to deserve it, therefore what I’m doing to him now is justified”. People who view the world in black and white are often also the most ignorant.
