The optimistic side of me is hoping Sega is saving they're money right now to mass produce a console that fully utilizes the Oculus Rift. They were always good at using technology before its time.

Not for the extra storage, playstation 2 was able to dominate the japanese market when it came out because DVD players weren't "big" there yet. Not saying this is the only reason dreamcast failed, but it definitely didn't help.

This is a very good point.
