The classic anime, Riding Bean, has been a favorite of mine. 80's synth rock - check. Absurd shifting - check. Ridiculous vehicle modifications - check. Car chase with a BMW 5-series - check. Car chase with a Classic Shelby Mustang - check. Hero with Rambo style headband & an RS-200 - just gravy.

It's not specifically a car movie, but It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World features an absolutely terrific casting of characters and cars. Cherck out the IMCDb page for the the cars appearing in the film:

It was originally sold to a pilot in St.Johns, Newfoundland, Canada to be exact, and I've also heard that it is the first, soon as I read this, I was just like, wait... wut?

Yeah if it ever happens we'll get a concept car, then a few years, then we'll hear it's been canceled, then another concept, then a preview of the production model, then a few more years, then we might get to order one, and then we'll still be waiting.
