Does this really surprise anyone? My wife and I have been watching Hard Knocks, and quite a few more of Mallet’s passes have looked flat out bad. Hoyer’s not great, but he’s fairly consistent in his not-greatness. Sure, he threw a lot of picks last year, but it seems like that whole Browns team was a dumpster fire

So, honest question: why would anyone go to an NFL game in person? I haven’t been since I went to a Lions game the first season at Ford Field; before that, I think I went to three at the Silverdome. It’s not a fun experience, and the people suck. It sounds like that’s still the case.

Ha. I took a few minutes to look for a Comet of this era for sale, and can’t find a fastback under $13,000. Mine was $750 in 1997. I still miss that car and wish I could find a replacement for it.

A mid-70’s Mercury Comet. I had a 1977 as my first car in 1997. and I wrecked it pretty quickly. I thought it had way cooler taillights than the Maverick did. Mine was blue with a white vinyl top, and looked similar to these two, but with less ugly wheels.

Good advice on that one - we’re in Michigan, and she works in the capitol, Lansing, where the roads are sub-par to say the least. Luckily, the Subie dealer is on a shitty road, so it shouldn’t be a problem. I feel like anything we would get is going to be stiff, though, what with wanting something on the “fun” end of

Thanks for the advice on that! We’re both used to adverse conditions, as we both learned to drive here in Michigan. We have a really steep driveway - steep enough that 26’ moving trucks can’t back into our driveway - so we’ll likely still need snow tires to make sure she makes it up in snowy conditions. We both got

This whole series of articles is awesome, and I’m glad to see this one on the WRX. Within the next year, we’re looking at replacing my wife’s Saturn Astra with a WRX STI. We have a minivan for people hauling, and we think it’s time to have a fun car as the second car, which is also her daily driver.

I know, right? I completely forgot that the Lions made the playoffs last year, and I keep wondering where the write up is for them.

I like this series of posts; it helps with the “What the hell should we watch?” conversation that I have with my wife a couple times per week. I’m adding this one to the list based on this review.

Right, but again, what’s stopping her from breaking the law? I’d like to know what mechanisms Kentucky has in place to stop her. Is it just fines and jail? What’s going to stop her constituents from re-electing her, or electing someone else who promises to do the same thing? Anything?

I think that’s one way to take care of it, but what if her constituents support her bigotry? What’s the mechanism then? Even if she’s jailed for contempt, that doesn’t mean the person who fills in her role will issue the licenses.

So, it seems clear to me that Davis is going to continue to refuse to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. Does anyone know what the next steps are if that’s true? The article says that she can be fined and jailed for contempt, but at what point does she lose her elected position? Couldn’t the people of her county

This just made me miss the ‘94 E-150 conversion van my parents had. We road tripped in that thing every summer, playing games on our Sega Genesis with the built in 13” TV/VCR combo.

I hope this works out. I don’t know if I’m ever going to swing my leg over the saddle of a bike again, but I’ve always liked the idea of Buell’s bikes. The low-mounted exhaust and crazy braking systems just always seemed awesome to me.

I came in here to post this same question; I also assumed that they just hooked it up on the ground and towed it up into the air as they took off. I hope someone ungreys us and can answer this.

I don’t have a question, but I want to point out how weird it is that Drew’s takedown of the Detroit Lions hasn’t happened yet. I totally forgot that they won 10 or 11 games and made the playoffs, and was expecting the post somewhere around the 5th to 8th post in the series.

I love the tone of hopefulness in this post.

That company’s Teriyaki is great. I got a free bottle as a promo at the store I shop at a couple weeks ago, and I’m hooked!

I recently re-started with running to get back in shape, with a goal of running a half marathon (my second) at the end of October. I started off running at lunch time at work, since I get an hour and we have showers in the gym in our basement here at the office. A couple of weeks ago, I had to skip a lunch run because

Yeah, I’m wondering if I just need to use a thinner compound on it, like a true skim coat instead of the all-purpose mud.
