Engaging seriously with the negative stories about Scientology inherently brings you into contact with “suppressive persons” and information you’re not supposed to know, and Scientology seems to be very serious about information control not just from the org’s POV, but as a value it instills in its adherents. You’re…
It might seem that celebrity Scientologists are naive or misguided, but it’s all an act designed to protect their place in pop culture.
Yeah, they’re not the ones getting wrecked financially buying ever more encyclopedic life manual sets and the like. From what I understand it starts as more of a self-help type relationship and draws in people who are often alone and/or flailing in life.
A lot of my issues with celebrity Scientologists is that they seem delusional compared to other religious celebrities. It is perfectly possible that the Church of Scientology is a safe…
I’m into religious freedom, too. That’s why I think it might be a nice thing if some religions would let adherents who no longer want to be a part of said religion leave peacefully. But I know that’s a bit of a big ask for Scientologists!
She adds, “It’s not really a closed-off religion. It’s a place that is very open to, like, welcoming in somebody who wants to learn more about it. I think that’s the thing that is probably the most misunderstood.”

He is a supporter of homeopathy, which rather suggests he’s a few gems short of the Crown Jewels.
Yeah, but even if they didn’t want to include backwards compatibility this could be a wholly different process. The email should be “your game doesn’t work, fix it or we remove it”, not “you haven’t done an update in a bit so it must be bad and we’re removing it”
Okay but what we really need is Homicide: Life on the Street to be made available on streaming.
I think you’re ignoring a pretty important word in that quote. If I say “I am from Oklahoma,” I’m not saying I’m the entire state...
No, those players chose to play the game because of its earning potential. Specifically because in countries like the Philippines, the USD per day was more than many people were making at their 9-5 jobs.
Wow. You are exactly what I imagine when I read the term cryptobro.
“play the game”
